Day 15 we awoke in a guest house on La Vida Mission. We allowed ourselves to sleep in and have a slow morning. We had been moving at such a fast pace and had traveled so far that we all needed a break.
Then we decided we needed some supplies and a way to call out, we have no cell service out on the mission. So we road back to Farmington, NM, about 50ish miles from the mission and the closest “large” town. (it has a Walmart;) We made our calls and picked up our supplies.
Once back on the mission campus we had supper with the school children. The school has about 30 students and about 20 students live on campus in dorms.
Tobin then had a chance to look around the campus and see the work that needed to be done.
This is Dolores. She and her husband Larry are good friends of ours and they have the challenge and privilege to managing La Vida Mission. Tobin and the older ones ended the evening with a hike into the nearby mesa. The older boys had hoped to find arrowhead or sharks teeth. They found neither but had a nice hike. They enjoyed it so much that the sun almost went down on them before they made it back house.
