Day 11 was our last morning at the Grand Canyon. We awoke early and took down camp. Thankfully the sun came out early and dried the dew from our tent. Before we headed out though mom insisted on having all the laundry washed. After 11 days on the road with 8 people we had a small mountain. (probably a large mountain for most families;) So while mom waited on laundry everyone else went for a bike ride. Even dad got into the fun. Then we were ready to hit the road. We made it about 60 miles down the road when Samuel noticed a sign for dinosaur tracks. We pulled off the road and saw some interesting tracks preserved in sandstone. We even found some fossilized dino eggs.
The lady just left from Olivya was our dinosaur track guide. Evidently she had been around when the tracks were first studied and she was very knowledgeable. We had a very nice walk with her and then we stopped by her little table and found some beautiful native art and trinkets. On our drive we saw Monument Valley in the distance. What an amazing site to see such unique rock formations out on the middle of a relatively flat valley. Once again confirms the biblical account of a worldwide flood and all glorify God.
We arrived at Cortez, CO just before sundown and were able to enjoy an early night.
